Big Boulder Ski and Snowboard Resort

Big Boulder, emphasizes "family time". One of, if not the first ski area in the region, They've been in business since 1947. The resort has something for everyone...skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing.

The terrain is perfect for kids or adults to learn. And you won't get lost 'cause, each trail leads you right back to the base area. Skiing is free for kids 5 & under who bring along a skiing parent. And the junior lift ticket, kids ages 6 to 15 costs only $22 (less than any other ski area in the Poconos).

The entire trail network is covered with a state-of-the-art snowmaking system. With 7 chairlifts and an uphill capacity of 9,600 people per hour, your next run is never more than a quick ride away. All trails are open until 10:00 p.m, for night skiing, snow tubing, the half-pipe and the Bonk Yard (snowboard park) and there is evening babysitting .

Conditions: Slushy goodness

Staff: We didn't see many.

Half Pipe or Boarder Friendly: Yes, good verts, halfpipe great for intermediates

Rating: 9 for Boarders, a little small for skiers.

Size: Small, but big enought for a day

Bargain: The prices are spiffy

Boredom Level: none for boarders

Cleanliness: Very clean and well maintained

Comments: Rails! This is the best kept snowboarding secret in the Poconos
