Marathon - Pocono Run for the Red
The Run for the Red Marathon is certified by the USATF
and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.The 26.2-mile
run, which benefits Red Cross disaster relief efforts
and is now in its sixth year, starts in the Pocono
Mountain area and ends at Stroudsburg High School.

the Gazebo with a terrific performance by the Jesse
Green Trio. The concert will be held from 6:00pm to

Hosted by the Blue Ridge Mountain Boys, the annual
Pocono Mountains Bluegrass Festival comes to the Greene-Dreher-Sterling
Fairgrounds in Newfoundland. Music will play Friday
from 5:00pm to midnight, Saturday 11:00am until midnight,
and Sunday 11:00am to 6:00. Admission will be charged.

IronMan
The biggest brand in triathlon is coming to the Poconos
Mountains in Pennsylvania with the addition of Ironman
70.3 Pocono Mountains . Scheduled for late September
or early October , the event will take place in and
around the scenic Delaware Water Gap National Recreation
Area with a fantastic finish down Main Street in historic
Stroudsburg, PA. The race will mark the first Ironman
event in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and will
include a multisport expo and other interactive events.
Course maps and additional race details will be announced
in the coming months.
Races in the Poconos Ironman 70.3 Series consist of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike and a 13.1-mile run. This new race joins nearly 50 global events in the Ironman 70.3 Series that qualify athletes for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3.
